HB 1227: The Keeping Families Together Act (B102)


Description

HB 1227 went into effect on July 1, 2023. This course provides content from a high-level overview of HB 1227 to an in-depth, hands-on analysis of the law (and other recent legislative changes). Participants in this course will learn about the changes to the black-letter law brought on by HB 1227. Participants will also learn about how the law now analyzes removal decisions and placement decisions. Participants will also discuss the difference between safety planning and case planning. This course will also delve into the procedural changes required by HB 1227, and participants will be introduced to available tools, training, and technical assistance as we transition from old practices to implementation of this new and exciting chapter in child welfare law.
